I wish that I could come up with something funny for the beginning of this email but the funniest thing that happened this week was Elder Abraham tried to stand on a basketball and fell so hard. So there is the beginning of my email.
This week was really great! We had been praying for people to teach and these last few weeks have been a little slow.
A few highlights from this week were all about being in the right place at the exact right time to be able to help out two different potential investigators.
On Tuesday, we went tracting in an apartment complex and on the way into it, I saw an elderly woman looking out of her blinds. I smiled at her and waved and then she invited us in! We talked for a good long while and then she invited us to come back later! So cool! I will get back to her later. On Wednesday, we were planning on visiting a woman at around 3 but we were a little late. It's hard to catch her at home though. As we walked up, we noticed that she was really struggling to put some Christmas decorations away in a high spot in her garage. We helped her and then set up a time where we could come and teach her! We had arrived at the perfect time to help her! On Thursday, we had interviews with President and we visited a potential investigator named Sarah. We had delivered a children's Book of Mormon to her for her kids and we found out that her daughter had been reading it a lot! Super cool!
Saturday was the coolest day of them all! We went down to visit another potential investigator and as we were biking there, I stopped at a cool Jeep to look at it. Well, it so happened that on that same street, one of our other potentials was running there at the exact same time! We hadn't been able to contact her for a while so it was really cool that we were led there. We went down to visit that woman that I was talking about on Tuesday, her name is Sheila. We talked for a bit again and she said that she would come to church the next day!! We then went tracting there and the first door to open was Priscilla and Gabriel who were interested in our message! They accepted a Book of Mormon and a Restoration pamphlet and invited us to come back!
Then we were supposed to visit a woman named Sister Thomson for our Bishop.
We have never been able to catch her at home but she was just leaving when we pulled up! We introduced ourselves and made a return appointment with her! Then next door, another member friend was working on his car outside, we offered to help but there was nothing that we could do to be helpful but.... they invited us in for dinner which was great because we didn't have one that night! We also made a return appointment with an inactive family who is also hard to catch at home! It was a day that I needed badly. Oh yeah, and everyone has the flu right now in Dixon so yeah.

Sunday was cool too, Sheila came to church and loved it! She said she would come back next week and also she made some good friends in the ward with some old ladies haha she is 83. Also, remember that man who was inactive for like 30 years who Elder Siebach and I went up to see? Yeah well, he has been coming back to church and everything with his family. He gave his testimony yesterday, it was so cool. He talked about all that had happened that helped him come back into the fold. Happy to have been a part of that.
Im excited to keep going with these new investigators and a few other families that we can get on track for baptism in the coming weeks.
It was sad to hear about President Monson but it's all okay because of the Great Plan of Happiness! He was such a great man.
The song of the week is "Annie" by ARIZONA, it's a good one but not related to missionary work at all.
Let me know what's going on with everyone, I hope you're all doing well!
On a side note, I've been offered beer more in this last week than I have in the rest of my life. Also, weed is recreationally legal here in California now so everyyyyyone smokes it in front of us... but on the bright side, I've never slept better in my entire life! haha
Thanks for reading this. Email ended.
Love, Elder Thompson
